Put Your Faith in a Vinyl Gable Vent

When one thinks of vinyl, the first thing that comes to mind is usually the image of the old vinyl record albums. Well, that is if the person is old enough to remember the old LP records. But, other images that generally pop into people’s heads when the subject of vinyl are vinyl chairs, vinyl siding, and vinyl car interiors. What people do not think of automatically when they think of vinyl is the vinyl gable vent. This is probably because vinyl is a complex carbon-based molecule that can be used in dozens of different applications – with even more textures.

A gable vent allows for proper ventilation inside one’s home or business. Now, while a great many gable vents are made out of different woods, the vinyl gable vent is another popular type. The vinyl gable vent provides the same function that its wood cousin is capable of doing, while at the same time adding a few other little benefits. Namely, a vinyl gable vent is a little easier to clean. Plus, one does not have to worry about vinyl warping, which is a problem that one may face when (improperly) cleaning a wood gable vent.

But is the vinyl gable vent as durable as one that is made of wood? Well, it depends on what one means by durable. If one is referring to a vinyl vent having a long shelf life, then the answer is yes, it is equally durable as a wood vent. Some are under the incorrect impression that vinyl cracks and ‘dies’ after a certain amount of time passes, but this is usually only the case when the object made of vinyl has suffered from neglect.

So, if one is considering purchasing a gable vent made out of vinyl, then take solace in the notion that a vinyl gable vent will provide the same level of quality as gable vents made from different material.
