Roof vents are becoming very popular today as more and more people find that these kind of vents help cool the house in an effective and nice way.
- Copper Roof Vent
A copper roof vent will often come in the form of a “vent cap,” which looks similar to a metallic chef's hat. This prevents water from entering the vent. Additionally, a copper roof vent may also come in the form of a “sleeve.” Sleeves appear as a rough cylinder – and allow heat to flow out of the home, but do not prevent the entrance of animals and precipitation.
- Soffitt Vent
A soffit vent is usually installed in conjunction with a roof vent. While a roof vent allows hot air to leave the attic, a vent is designed to allow cool air to enter the attic. This wont eliminate your overheating problems altogether, but it will allow the temperature in the attic to move closer to a safe equilibrium where your stored items aren't damaged and your roof doesn't begin to shrink.
- Eave Vent
In that regard, the eave vent helps eliminate the aforementioned problems associated with the resultant heat and steam given off from a dryer. One might say that the eave vent provides a little ‘direction’ for that pesky cloud of heat that can cause so much trouble in one’s home.
- Vinyl Gable Vent
But is the vinyl gable vent as durable as one that is made of wood? Well, it depends on what one means by durable. If one is referring to a vinyl vent having a long shelf life, then the answer is yes, it is equally durable as a wood vent. Some are under the incorrect impression that vinyl cracks and ‘dies’ after a certain amount of time passes, but this is usually only the case when the object made of vinyl has suffered from neglect.
- Roof Ridge Vent
A roof ridge vent, when properly configured, will allow the hottest air to escape from the attic, thus preventing undue pressure on the roof and its components. The roof ridge vent accomplishes this without the aid of an electric fan or any other device to circulate the air. Fresh air can enter through other vents, allowing for a natural flow of the air throughout the space.

A solar roof vent is very simply an attic fan that is runs on solar energy instead of electricity. A solar roof vent has a fan that is powered by the sun to remove heat and moisture from attics.
